Position: Specialized Access Control Specialist

Job Purpose / Description:


To provide 24x7 physical and informational security support


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and controlling access to customer facilities, operating various access control devices, metal detectors, x-ray equipment, and other screening devices. Monitoring compliance with the customer's established rules and regulations. Providing access control and other related administrative processing support as required. Providing proper documentation and reports as necessary. Providing 24x 7 support to facility as directed. Always assuring punctuality in reporting to your assigned post/position.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist visitors with entry and exit using card readers and revolving doors
  • Assist visitors with directions within facility
  • Moving computer equipment
  • Assist with door alarms and keeping a soft copy log
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in related field strongly preferred.


Required Skills, Qualifications:

Position requires 1-3 years of experience in physical security or investigations, such as an Investigator or similar position. Customer Service experience highly desired. High Dipolma or GED. Experience in security clearance verification and badging systems preferred. Computer experience in MS Office, email, and Internet. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have an active government security clearance and be able to work rotating shifts.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to work varying shifts and days, at times with short notice
  • Ability to be alert and aware of security requirements and to respond to emergency situations calmly with confidence and expertise
  • Ability to work double or back-to-back shifts as required
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time (90%)
  • Walk and stand for brief periods (5%)
  • Ability to lift and transport 15-30 pounds infrequently (<1%)
